On Friday, because we LOVE getting to spend time together, Country Living Magazine, and adventures in general, we hopped in the car (after one of us hopped on a Southwest flight) and headed to the Country Living Fair in Austin. Talk about fun! Since it was supposed to be 95+ degrees outside Friday afternoon, and because "Expo Center" really means roof, no walls, and dirt floors, we decided to hit the fair when it opened and after walking around for a while, we're glad we did!
The fair was full of antiques, collectibles, delicious food (seriously - the cheesy garlic bread was so good we contemplated going back to the fair to get more!) and the opportunity to meet your favorite vendors (thanks to RustOleum for the treat!) and some of your favorite personalities (Cari Cucksey from Cash and Cari on HGTV). We didn't buy a ton (mostly because we're cheap) but we had a FAB time! And, we had our pictures taken at the Country Living booth which means that we could wind up in the magazine! We'll let you know if we do!
As for the delicious fried chicken we ate (see the bottom middle photo), it wasn't at the fair but at a delicious new Austin restaurant called Lucy's! Here's what you need to know about Lucy's. The parking is ... almost nonexistent. The food is ... FABULOUS! If you're in Austin and looking for something good to eat, check it out!
As we plan our next adventure (a short jaunt to Nashville) let us know if there are any places not to miss!
Did you have an adventure this weekend? We want to know!
